The employer-sponsored visa allows Australian employers to sponsor specific skilled labour to serve their business needs. It also allows skilled labour of a foreign country to explore their employment options with Australian employers in case they may need their skills. Australian immigration has a provision where an eligible applicant can be recruited by an eligible Australian employer in the instance where they have not been able to find the suitable candidate from within Australia and can provide them and option form temporary or permanent visa options.
Some of such visa would be:
TEMPORARY SKILL SHORTAGE VISA (SUBCLASS 482)
TSS enables employers to address labour shortages by hiring skilled workers where they cannot find an appropriately skilled Australian. TSS visa holders can work in Australia in their nominated occupation and may have a pathway to permanent residency. The basic requirement of this visa is:
- IELTS overall 5
- 2 years of relevant work experience required and meet ANZSCO requirements
- No age limit
- Meet health and character requirements
A.Medium and Long Term TSS Visa (482)
Your occupation should be in MLTSSL, there is a pathway to permanent residency after 3 years of this visa.
B.Short-Term TSS Visa (482)
There is no permanent residency pathway unless the workplace is in the regional area.
SKILLED EMPLOYER SPONSORED REGIONAL (PROVISIONAL) VISA (SUBCLASS 494)
Subclass 494 skilled employer sponsored (regional)visa enables regional employers to address identified labour shortages within their region by sponsoring skilled workers where employers cannotsource an appropriately skilled Australian worker. The visa validity period is 5 years. Conditions will be imposed that visa holders live, work and study only in regional areas (condition 8579). The 494 visa replaced the 187 (RSMS) visa.
EMPLOYER NOMINATION SCHEME (SUBCLASS 186)
The Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) enables Australian employers to sponsor highly skilled workers to live and work permanently in Australia. The basic requirement of this visa is:
- You must have the necessary skills for the job
- You must be nominated by an Australian employer
- You must meet our health and character requirements
TEMPORARY ACTIVITY VISA (SUBCLASS 408)
This visa allows you to come to Australia to do specific types of work on a short-term, temporary basis.You must:
- have the skills to undertake the activity to be carried out in Australia
- be supported or sponsored
- meet additional requirements of the relevant stream
